The Trainer Gets Trained!

My name is Christine Dalzell and I am a Personal Trainer here at Leaps & Bounds Personal Training & Clinical Exercise Inc.  I am just months away from my 40th birthday.

I became a group fitness trainer 5 years ago when my 2nd daughter was 1 year old because I was having trouble getting myself to fitness classes.  I became an instructor so I would be forced to go and get exercise myself.  This plan has worked well but I am guilty of becoming lazy.  I’ve been coasting with this routine and I have stopped working hard for myself, so my fitness has plateaued.  I am lucky that, in this line of work and thanks to a great baseline level of fitness, I have gotten away with this!

It’s time to kick it up a notch!

I have been  “the best shape of my life” a number of times and I figure why not do it again for a new decade?

Manuel Armenta is also a Personal Trainer here at Leaps & Bounds.  He has 20 years of experience, is a former body builder and is an all around nice guy.  Well,,,,,depending on how much I hurt tomorrow, that opinion may change.

 

I chose Manuel among the many great trainers here, for a number of reasons:

–  His aforementioned 20 years of experience – including body building

– I have gotten friendly with the other women here and I have a tendency to get distracted easily and chat (sheepish grin)

– He is a man and I have my pride so I will do those extra 3 reps just to not look like a weak woman (not that HE would ever think that….it’s all in our heads, right?)

–  He has higher expectations for me than I have set for myself.  This is a good quality in a trainer.

We thought it would be fun for everyone to see what can happen to a body when we make necessary changes.  It is never too late and you can never be too fit.    I’m just a regular sort of woman.  I’m a busy wife and mother of 2 small girls, children’s author, fitness instructor, personal trainer.  I’ve made a commitment to myself, Manuel and now to you , to put myself in Manuel’s capable hands, follow his instructions, change my diet and whatever it takes to see what a regular, fairly fit 40 year old body can become.
